§ PRIVACYLAST UPDATED 15 OCT 2026
Privacy, plainly.
We collect as little as we can, keep it for as short as we can, and never sell or share it for advertising. No cookies, no tracking, no ad networks.
NO COOKIES. NO TRACKING. NO BANNER. We count visits without storing anything on your device. The only cookie is the sign-in cookie, and only if you open a free file.
What we collect, why, for how long, and who can see it
| WHAT | WHY | HOW LONG | WHO SEES IT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your report answers | To count and chart job losses. | As long as the site exists. Shredding your report removes it from the counts too. | Public only as anonymous statistics. |
| Your story text | To publish it after review, with names blacked out. | Original: until reviewed, then deleted after 30 days. Published version: until you shred it. | Original: only the moderator. Published: everyone. |
| Company name (optional) | To match statistics by employer size and sector. | Same as your report. | Only the moderator. Never public, never in downloads. |
| Email (optional) | Your private link and the emails you chose. Stored as a one-way hash; an encrypted copy only while we owe you an email, or if you asked for the 6-month check-in. | Until you remove it or shred your report. | Only us and our email provider. |
| Sign-in details (free file) | To sign you in. We store an ID and your email, not your name or photo. | Until you shred your file. | Only us. |
| Bot check | To stop automated spam (Cloudflare Turnstile). | Not stored by us. | Cloudflare, under its own privacy terms. |
| Salted IP hash | To limit reports per connection and stop abuse. We never store or log your raw IP address. | 7 days, and the hash changes every day. | Only us. |
- YOUR RIGHTS
- See, export, correct or delete your data at any time: in your file, from your private link, or by writing to us. You can also complain to your data protection authority. Deletion is real: shredded reports are removed from the database, not hidden.
